As a School for Ministry seminarian, I had the privilege to attend Missional Voices in Indianapolis this past April 2018. The overall message in this three day gathering was one of love, peace, and outreach. I specifically appreciatd one of the seminars given by the Good Samaritan clergy. Their mission is to go outside the church walls and gather with people in odd places. They started to gather in a park and eventually to a school ground. The were other main points explored throughout the three days. Another one in particular that got a lot of my attention was the many thing that we can do for our homeless brothers and sisters. I have been developing a passion for ministries that go outside the church and outside my comfort zone such as ministries to people who are homelessness, people on hospice, and other kinds of care regardless of other people’s spiritual background. That was also part of the conversation in this seminar–tearing down walls to reach others.
I recommend the Missional Voices gathering for anyone interested in learning more about reaching people where they are. Learn more here.
