St. James Rectory Fire

I am deeply saddened to report that yesterday evening a fire in the rectory of St. James by-the-Sea, La Jolla destroyed the garage and claimed one life. The Rev. Dr. Mark Hargreaves, rector, and his wife, Laura, are grieving the loss of Laura’s mother, Ellen. She was 90 years old and a much loved mother and grandmother who will be gravely missed. My prayers are for Mark and Laura and their family during this difficult time. I ask that you would hold the family in your prayers while respecting their privacy. If you would like to send cards or letters of support, please be in touch with the Rev. Canon Allisyn Thomas.

The Rt. Rev. James R. Mathes
Bishop
