For our afternoon session, we focused on hunger issues in San Diego. St. Mark’s does tremendous work in this area with an emergency food pantry that’s supported by St. Bartholomew’s, St. James, Christ Church, Feeding America, and a Jubilee agrant. They also host a fresh food distribution once a month that serves 250-400 families each month. Heather Smith of St. Mark’s has a fantastic powerpoint about hunger in San Diego and the programs at St. Mark’s that she is happy to share with your congregation. She will come and speak at your adult forum, to your day school, your Bible study group, etc. Please contact her at nunns1@yahoo.com to schedule a time for her to visit.
