Week of Christian Unity Ecumenical Prayer Service

The Roman Catholic and Episcopal Churches of San Diego are jointly hosting an Ecumenical Prayer service to celebrate the annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. The prayer service, scheduled for Wednesday, January 22, at 7:00 in the evening, will be held at Mission San Diego de Alcala.
“Do you believe?” is the theme for this year’s celebration. This question reflects Jesus’ conversation with Martha in John 11:26 when she and her sister summoned Him regarding the death of their brother Lazarus, and it is a question Jesus asks of all of us.
The event also marks the 1,700 anniversary of the Council of Nicaea and the Nicene Creed, which is shared by Christians of Churches and denominations throughout the world.
Admission is free and open to members of all churches and communities.
