Sacred Ground 2.0 Dialogue Circle

Created by The Episcopal Church (TEC), this eleven-session, small-group dialogue series is built around a free online curriculum of engaging films and readings that walk through some of the major chapters of our country’s history of race and racism. Along the way, it asks participants: What are your stories? How does your family history intersect with broader historic trends? More than 30,000 participants have completed the original Sacred Ground program since 2019.
In September 2026, TEC introduced a significant Sacred Ground content revision and added new materials. This helps the series to better weave together varying stories of family experiences, economic class, and political and regional identity. Participation is free (except for two core paperbacks).
Given the current climate of disinformation and polarization, the need to engage—or reengage—in this type of conversation is more necessary than ever. Not to assign blame, but to come to terms with the history we all inherit and to hear differing perspectives in a civil and supportive manner. Throughout the process, the group will draw on spiritual resources to ground the conversation in faith.
All are welcome to participate, including those who have participated before, or who do not readily identify with a particular faith tradition or faith community. We invite and encourage everyone to join the conversation!
Two new dialogue circles are scheduled for Wednesdays, starting December 2, 3-5 pm PT & Fridays, starting January 8, 6-8 pm PT. Learn more about Sacred Ground 2.0 by attending an information session on November 18, 6:30-7:30 pm PT. All meetings are via Zoom. Register below.
