2020 Episcopal Youth Event (EYE)

This summer youth currently enrolled in grades 9-12 are invited to apply to be part of the delegation going to the Episcopal Youth Event, EYE. What is EYE? EYE is a three day leadership conference taking place in Washington D.C., but it is so much more than that. It is an opportunity for youth from all over the country to gather together for fun, worship, and learning. Truly, it is a leadership conference, and it is filled with activities, excitement and tons of fun!
LOCATION AND DATES: The 2020 Episcopal Youth Event (EYE2020) will be held in partnership with the Washington National Cathedral and the Episcopal Diocese of Washington on the campus of the University of Maryland, College Park July 7-11, 2020.
COST: $1275 per youth. This total cost will be split 3 ways. $425 will be paid by the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego – $425 by the congregation of the youth attending – $425 youth.
FUNDRAISING: We will hold three fundraisers in community. All youth who work fundraisers share in the profits from that fundraiser. Any balance at the end of the three fundraisers, is the responsibility of the youth. Scholarships will not be issued to youth who choose not to attend fundraisers.
HOW TO APPLY: In order to be considered for the delegation heading to EYE from the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego, youth must complete the following three things.
1. Complete online youth application
2. Make deposit payment of $50 (If you are unable to make this deposit, please contact your youth leader or priest for assistance)
3. Have your youth ministry leader, or priest from your congregation complete a nomination
APPLICATION PERIOD: December 19, 2019, 9:00 a.m. – January 6, 2020. 4 p.m.
SELECTION: The application committee will be meeting on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 to select the delegation. Notifications will go out on January 13, 2020. Confirmation of acceptance to the delegation will be due no later than January 16th.
