All Saints’ Vista Celebrates with Revival

All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Vista welcomed Bishop Susan Brown Snook for the first Bishop’s Visitation and Church Revival of the year.

Each week Bishop Susan visits a church in the diocese. This year during the Bishop’s visit, each church is celebrating with a revival, filled with liturgical depth, testimony, prayer, and celebration—perfect for welcoming friends or family back to church.

The Rev. Kirby Smith, Rector of All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Vista, said, “We’ve had tremendous positive feedback for the Bishop’s Revival visitation. The prayer stations allowed parishioners to spend time praying more deeply than we normally do during a service. We all felt energized to move ahead boldly in what God is calling us to do.”

All Saints’ set up unique, candle-lit stations to pray for spiritual revival, healing, or the community around them; dozens joined in these prayer opportunities, writing their prayers on pieces of paper. Later in the service, Bishop Susan blessed the prayers.

Misty Brogan, Clerk of All Saints’ Vestry, offered a beautiful testimony about finding God while stuck in a hard place.

“It was inspiring to see how members of All Saints’ responded to the revival visitation in such a heartfelt way. The response to the lay testimony and the prayer stations was particularly profound. I felt the Holy Spirit moving in a powerful way and was delighted to share that experience with the people of All Saints’,” said Bishop Susan.

The Year of Evangelism will culminate in welcoming Presiding Bishop Michael Curry to the Good News Festival this December 9-10. With interactive outreach projects, workshops, live discussion panels, youth offerings, and an evening of celebration at the beautiful Town and Country Resort, the Good News Festival will be the perfect time to get away and enjoy some good news.
