All Soul’s Announces Peter Sickels as Interim Rector

Peter arrived from the Diocese of Iowa after retiring in January 2016.  Following graduation from Nashotah House seminary in 1984, he served parishes in Davenport, Trinity Cathedral; Durant, Iowa; and Clinton, Iowa as well as ELCA Lutheran congregations in Princeton Iowa, and several interim settings in the “Quad-Cities” Iowa/Illinois region with the ELCA. Having been ordained Deacon at Grace Cathedral, San Francisco, and priest in Durant, he returned to his roots in California and was licensed to serve in San Diego in 2017.  While in this diocese Peter has been an active member of All Souls, Point Loma, and served as steady supply during an interim period at St. Mary’s of the Valley, Ramona.  He loves the Cursillo movement and has served several weekends at Pine Valley Bible Camp as a member of the band.  On Wednesday evenings he will be found in the small park next to the beach in OB where he helped found the drum and dancing circle.  Peter has two daughters, one living in Los Angeles and the other in Iowa with a new grandson.   His current call is as Interim Rector at All Souls.
