Eucharistic Visitor Training Workshop 2.0

As more parishes return to in-person Holy Eucharist Services, it is clear that many in our congregations will not be able to or will not wish to return at this time.

In the practice of their ministry, the Eucharistic Visitor assists in extending the Eucharistic table to those who are not in their midst.

To that end, we have re-tooled the EDSD Eucharistic Visitor Training Workshop offered in June 2020 to include the Bishop’s new guidelines and directives. It is being offered to those who did not attend the training last year.  It is a one-hour session entitled Eucharistic Visitor Training Workshop 2.0.

ALL Eucharistic Visitors (new and those currently licensed) that did not attend the training last year MUST take this training and be licensed before they are authorized to take communion to others. In addition, rectors, vicars, priests-in-charge, and deacons are also welcomed and encouraged to take the training. We will be offering ideas and options that may assist you as you plan for the immediate future of your communal worship and supervision of your Eucharistic Visitors.

In order for EVs to be licensed, they must also be current with Safeguarding God’s People training. For more information on Safeguarding God’s People online training, including how to set up your training profile and get started, click HERE

The Eucharistic Visitor Training Workshop is an hour-long workshop designed for our current way of being Church at this time. It’s designed to equip and license you to practice this pastoral ministry of Presence, Healing and Hope. You will learn the history and theological underpinnings of this ministry and you will also be instructed and provided the experience of in-home communion service.

The first session will be offered on Wednesday, May 26th at 12:00 p.m. and will conclude at 1:00 p.m. You can register here.

The second session will be offered on Thursday, May 27th at 6 p.m. and will conclude at 7 p.m. You can register here.

The third session will be offered on Friday, May 28th at 10:00 a.m. and will conclude at 11:00 a.m. You can register here
