Good Shepherd, Hemet is an urban parish in an ethnically diverse mid-sized town (85,000 pop.) in Southern California. We are located 80 miles from Los Angeles, 90 miles from San Diego, and 40 miles from Palm Springs in a semi-arid farming area. Our ASA is approximately 86 people, mostly seniors (55+). Our ideal candidate is an ordained Episcopal priest with progressively responsible experience as a vicar, priest-in-charge, assistant rector or rector of a similar sized parish. Recently ordained seminary graduates will also be considered. We are looking for a rector with strong skills and experience in preaching, growth and development, fundraising, and end-of-life issues who has high personal energy, and who is willing to make a long-term commitment to Good Shepherd. Section Leaders | Christ Church, Coronado
Christ Church, Coronado is seeking two section leaders, a soprano and a tenor to assist on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings, as well as Christmas, Holy Week, Easter and other occasions, as needed. The positions are available now. Candidates should be experienced choral singers with excellent reading skills, and a schedule that will accommodate regular attendance. The usual commitment is Thursday evening from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Sunday mornings from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The Sunday sung service is at 10 a.m. The choir director is Michael Morgan, who is well known in San Diego as an accomplished educator, musician and a dynamic conductor. Currently, the stipend is $20.60 per hour for 2.5 hours on Thursday and 2.5 hours on Sunday. Payroll is processed twice monthly. The fee is $250.00 per service. Part-Time Van Driver | Vida Joven de Mexico
We’ll pay YOU to help the children! Vida Joven, a foster home in Tijuana, needs a part-time van driver. As our van driver, you’ll work on the third and fourth Saturdays of most months. Your easy and important job is to transport visitors safely and courteously in our 15-passenger van roundtrip from Chula Vista to Tijuana. You’ll be taking these people to visit the children at Vida Joven. You must hold or be willing to obtain a Class B commercial driver’s license with passenger endorsement. (We’ll pay you to get your Class B license if you don’t already have it.) A valid passport is required. Spanish is helpful, but not necessary. Contact Beth Beall, 619-717-7091.
