ALL ARE WELCOME! \nAbout Dr. Bruce Neswick:\nBruce Neswick enjoys immense popularity and is in tremendous demand throughout the country as organist\, improviser\, choral conductor and trainer\, commissioned composer\, and hymn festival leader. He is a musician whose playing vibrates with energy\, is full of radiant color\, and always expertly crafted. Mr. Neswick holds the Fellowship degree from the Royal School of Church Music and was awarded an honorary doctorate in 2016 by the University of the South\, Sewanee\, TN. He is the Artist-in-Residence at St. James by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in La Jolla\, California. Bruce Neswick is represented in North America exclusively by Phillip Truckenbrod Concert Artists\, LLC.

SUMMARY:June Icon Writing Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Students are guided step-by-step through the process using acrylic paints and 23-carat gold in order to prayerfully recreate one of the most beloved icons of the Christian East – the Christ Pantocrator of Sinai. \nThis five-day retreat will be held at All Souls’\, Point Loma\, where local iconographer and national workshop instructor\, Kara Nelson\, will lead participants in the spiritual practice of writing a Byzantine style icon. \nAll instruction is appropriate for beginners and no previous art experience is necessary. All materials are supplied. Retreat is held Monday-Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. $100 deposit is needed to secure registration. Please contact Kara for more information and to register.

DESCRIPTION:The Diocesan Service Coalition meets quarterly to discuss ways to network and share ideas on best practices and challenges as we strive to be the hands of Christ in our neighborhoods. Join us this quarter! We will share what is going on our congregations in our various outreach ministries followed by a presentation about a particular area that needs our attention. We ask for a $5 donation for lunch. \nAll Souls’ Point Loma is located at 1475 Catalina Boulevard\, which is at the intersection of Chatsworth and Catalina.  The parking lot is located on the Chatsworth side of the campus\, and there is street parking on Catalina.  We will be in the Rankin Room and hope to have signage.  People can RSVP to Drusilla Grubb at drusilladeja@gmail.com. \nService Summit Afternoon Presentations\nWARRIOR FOUNDATION FREEDOM STATION – Judy Sexton\, COO and board member of Warrior Foundation\, instrumental in the formation of Freedom Station (transitional housing and support services for injured and ill warriors here in Southern California). Judy will tell us about the history and services of this outreach to wounded warriors. The organization provides quality of life items\, support services\, and transitional housing\, including supporting an all-military wheelchair basketball team. Freedom Station is located in South Park San Diego. \nFOMOS – Friends of Military Outreach and Support – builds bridges of healing in the pastoral care and spiritual growth of currently transitioning and former military members\, their family and friends. The Rev. Susan Astarita of the Cathedral\, and Kim Sorrell\, a counselor at Vets Village\, will speak about the work of this ministry of St. Paul’s Cathedral. \nALL SOULS’ – will make a short presentation about their partnership with the Marines.
