DESCRIPTION:Students are guided step-by-step through the process using acrylic paints and 23-carat gold in order to prayerfully recreate one of the most beloved icons of the Christian East – the Christ Pantocrator of Sinai. \nThis five-day retreat will be held at All Souls’\, Point Loma\, where local iconographer and national workshop instructor\, Kara Nelson\, will lead participants in the spiritual practice of writing a Byzantine style icon. \nAll instruction is appropriate for beginners and no previous art experience is necessary. All materials are supplied. Retreat is held Monday-Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. $100 deposit is needed to secure registration. Please contact Kara for more information and to register.
