Via Crucis: Pilgrimage to the Border in Support of Immigration Reform

In a show of solidarity with immigrants, pilgrims from the dioceses of Los Angeles and San Diego traveled to the U.S. – Mexico border on March 25, led by Bishop Suffragan Diane Jardine Bruce of Los Angeles and Bishop James Mathes of San Diego. The group started in Los Angeles, and traveled by car to Messiah Parish, Santa Ana; St. John’s, Chula Vista; and Friendship Park, San Diego, praying Stations of the Cross in Spanish and English at each stop. They then walked to the border wall, where they celebrated Eucharist as clergy from the Anglican Church of Mexico celebrated on the other side of the border wall. Television coverage of the event is available in English here and in Spanish here and here.
