That’s a Wrap: VBS2020

Sometime in Lent, several of us started to wonder how Vacation Bible School could look this summer then began to dream big.  Beginning to glimpse Jesus’ vision of our mission field in The Great Commission, we realized that we were free of geographic boundaries and that our traditional and separate week-long Vacation Bible Schools could be so much more.  By April, Group Publishing released their content for online offerings and we were off to the races.  Quickly adapting a five-day curriculum into a five-week video series, this ambitious project would need dozens of volunteers from as many congregations to work and it has!  Thanks to those volunteers and our streaming partners, thousands of eyes have seen and thousands of ears have heard the Good News of Jesus.

Thanks to our bold, creative, eager, honest, compassionate volunteers who, on screen and off, created something special in a time when we sorely needed it.

Thank you Dawn, Kari, Chet, Lucas, Jocelynn, Gwynn, Trevor, Maya, Nick, Izzy, Mary, Sarah, Mark, Neomi, Lynn, Ari, Erin, Leslie, Gabby, Chris, Liz, Deana, Ken, David, Melodie for creating our Everyday Science segments, students from our diocesan youth Dismantling Racism course, Jennie for converting VBS in-a-can into VBS online, the incomparable Charlette Preslar, and, especially, you for joining us on this adventure by tuning in each week!

We have exciting plans for the fall so, until then, rest well, see beauty, be God’s incarnate love to all, then keep your eyes glued to diocesan channels for more information as the season unfolds.

Sunday at 3pm, join us for one last trip down the Rocky Railway at edsd.org/vbs
