Making Miracles Gala

Episcopal Community Services (ECS) held its first annual Making Miracles Hybrid Gala Saturday, April 10, 2021. Guests were able to enjoy the opportunity to attend the event in person at Coasterra on San Diego Bay or participate virtually via livestreaming on YouTube. After having to take our gala virtual last year, we are thrilled to be able to come together both in person and virtually this year to celebrate the impact of ECS in our community. It was a bold move on the part of the committee, led by Honorary Chair Marie Tuthill and Gala Committee Chairs, Kathy Fremdling and Leta Keyes. It was a wonderful evening celebrating ECS and raising unrestricted revenue for the organization.

The event, sponsored by Marsh and McClennan, The Episcopal Diocese of San Diego, The Huck Family, The Society of St. Paul, Hecht Solberg, and Winfield Development raised more than $175,000 which will benefit the many ECS programs that address mental health, child development, substance use disorders, and homelessness in San Diego.

158 individuals joined us in person at Coasterra and about another 150 joined us virtually. Some folks opted for the gourmet meal delivery from Coasterra, expertly delivered by members of the ECS Board of Directors. The evening was filled with stories of the lives changed because of ECS and wonderful entertainment by Lamb’s Players Theater. The highlight of the evening was the introduction of our new Chief Executive Officer, Elizabeth Fitzsimons. Elizabeth presented her vision for ECS and her gratitude for the support of the Diocese of San Diego, the ECS Board of Directors, ECS staff, and for the legacy of excellence established under the leadership of our previous Chief Executive Officer, Lesslie Keller. If you missed her, click here to hear what is happening in our agency.
