Meet back at the Nature Center upstairs room at noon for lunch\n\n\nAt 1pm we will create a group photo to share with our sister “desert” group meeting for lunch.\nNote: parking is limited at the center and across the street. If necessary\, continue west on Manchester to find parking on the street. Carpool if possible.\n\nOr \nJune 1 join clergy colleges for lunch at a fun restaurant in the desert at 12PM (Luchador at 68510 E. Palm Canyon Dr. #140\, Cathedral City\, CA 92234; and YES\, you’ll be challenged to a cornhole match!)\n\nNo matter where you are that day\, to demonstrate our unity and connection\, at exactly 1PM on Thursday\, June 1\, all clergy are invited to take a “selfie” with yourself and at least another clergy member and post it on social media (Instagram/Facebook) with the hashtag #EDSDClergy

June 3\, 2023 – 2-7 pm  – Bahia Point – Grades 6-12 – Come and enjoy an afternoon of fun with young people from all around our diocese. There will be the opportunity to sail\, swim\, play games\, and relax with friends! \nArrival: 2pm Bahia Point. We will have two canopies and an Episcopal Shield flag \nWhat youth need to bring: Water bottle\, sunscreen\, swimwear that is appropriate for sports and games. \nOptional items for youth: chairs\, beach games\, playing cards\, etc. \nWhat chaperones need to bring: waivers (attached to this email) for each person in your group\, sunscreen\, water bottle\, chair. Please plan on one chaperone for every 8 students you are bringing. \nFood: I will have large jugs of water for refilling water bottles and snacks for during the day. DESCRIPTION:Partner with your neighbors to care for refugees and migrants this summer! World Refugee Day (June 20\, 2023) is a perfect time to seek out new opportunities to serve those far from the land they call home and cherished by God. As part of the Year of Service\, partner with your congregation and engage in a service activity related to care for migrants and refugees.  Scripture speaks to God’s affection for—and how God’s people are to care for—refugees and immigrants (often referred to as “strangers” in the Bible) over 50 times. Due to our proximity to the U.S.-Mexico border and the many services provided in metro San Diego\, our diocese has a significant number of refugees and immigrants from Latin America as well as from around the globe. This is a great opportunity to be the church outside your church walls\, to connect with your neighbors in service! Check out the Year of Service webpage to learn more. \nTijuana Full Day Service & Learning Trip – June 25\, 2023 (space is limited) \n20 spots available\nBring passport and wear comfortable shoes clothing.\nCost: $60 per person (the cost of this event includes transportation\, meal\, stipend for leaders and ensures others who cannot afford this cost can also attend)\n\nSchedule\n8:30am – Meet at Pedeast Border Crossing\n9:30am – Walk to Deported Veterans office (10 minute walk); briefing on deported veterans\n10:00am – tour Pedwest Border Crossing and Deportation area (100 yards away)\n10:30am – Leave for Casa De Luz (LGBTQ shelter); tour shelter and assist with Border Church meal preparation at shelter\n12:30pm – Leave for Friendship Park; help with meal and Border Church set up\n1:30pm – Border Church Bi-National Communion Service\n2:00pm – Help serve meal/lunch; interact with Border Church and migrant community\n3:30pm – Assist with Border Church equiptment breakdown\n4:00pm – Friendship Garden workshop and beautification (weeding\, planting trees/shrubs)\n5:00pm – Visit migrant shelter (TBD); tour shelter\n6:00pm – Leave for Port of Entry and return to San Diego (border wait times vary) \nREGISTER\n
