SUMMARY:Episcopal Night at Petco Park
DESCRIPTION:The annual Episcopal Night at Petco Park is going to be a lot of fun for Episcopalians\, their families and friends! Cheer on the Padres as they take on the Arizona Diamondbacks. \nDiocesan choir members will sing the National Anthem before the game\, so come early. In fact\, you can come at 4:30 p.m. and enjoy Party in the Park\, which features live country music\, $5 drink specials\, food and more. All participating churches will be recognized with a special welcome message on the ribbon scorecard during the game. SUMMARY:Vital Teams: Team Leadership Essentials
DESCRIPTION:How do you transform a group of individual\, committed parishioners into a vital team? \nThis is a challenge that congregational leaders face each time they assemble new vestries\, bishop’s committees\, or create a taskforce or committee. How do you get people to work well together? What sort of practices will help them make strategic decision rather than get lost in the weeds? How can vestry and bishop’s committee meetings be productive and lively rather than much-dreaded monthly events that go on and on? \nThe health and vitality of every congregation depends on the effectiveness and efficiency of its vestry and leadership teams. Born in Perú\, Sandra grew up in Guatemala and settled in Texas as soon as she could. Her passions are God\, family (especially her son)\, music\, education\, and writing. She has been developing original bilingual resources for her church\, school\, and others for years. Sandra has been volunteering and working in the Episcopal Church since she was welcomed into Her in 1986. She serves as musician\, translator\, speaker\, consultant\, and writer. She is a full-time teacher and doctoral student. \nSandra T. Montes nació en Perú\, se crió en Guatemala y se instaló en Tejas lo antes que le fue posible. Prior to working for ECF\, Kjerstin was the information and referral specialist at the National Down Syndrome Society. DESCRIPTION:The Community of St. Francis is offering a ten day residential immersion in Franciscan Spirituality August 10-20.  Our theme is “Francis and Creation.”  Join the Sisters at St. Francis House in San Francisco in a study of Franciscan Spirituality and a living out of that spirituality through participation in our life of prayer\, work\, ministry\, and community. Open to any woman over 18. Room and board are provided as part of this free program\, but donations always welcome.  There will be a final 2018 Immersion Sept. 28 – Oct. 8 focusing on St. Francis Day. (St. Francis House is not wheelchair accessible).

Canon Lance Ousley is canon for stewardship and development for the Diocese of Olympia\, Seattle\, and priest-in-charge at St. John’s\, Kirkland\, Washington. Canon Ousley has served as keynote speaker and preacher at numerous diocesan conventions and stewardship conferences throughout the Episcopal Church. He has led the congregation from the brink of closure to thriving in mission through community outreach\, financial sustainability\, and new membership. Under his short tenure\, the church has reduced its debt over $450\,000 eliminating a 2020 balloon payment\, while simultaneously addressing deferred maintenance. \nLance says\, “If we\, as God’s people\, faithfully seek to live out the heavenly kingdom work that Jesus was doing in his earthly life and as leaders we empower others in their Baptismal ministry\, then there is great hope for our church and the world.” \nLance has been married to his wife\, Jenness\, for 27 years. They have one son and one daughter.
