DESCRIPTION:Our diocese has an ongoing commitment to creating a safe haven for everyone\, our diocese trains people in the prevention of misconduct and encourages all to report misconduct. All reported incidences are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly and confidentially. \nThis required training teaches you what misconduct is\, how to prevent it and how to report it should something occur. This in-person training is a rare opportunity; we encourage you to send as many people as possible\, especially those who may not have a reliable internet connection. St. Philip’s\, Lemon Grove has graciously opened this to other churches in the area.  The trainers are the Rev. Tom Wilson and the Rev. Cathey Dowdle. \nThe $25 fee covers instructors\, materials\, refreshments and lunch. You may pay online or pay later with a check. This summer’s EDSD youth mission trip will be with Partners in Development to Guatemala. During the 8 days that we are in Guatemala we will have the opportunity to complete several construction projects aiding the people of that community. We will also have the opportunity to hike the Mayan ruins\, and explore the town in which we are staying. Make no mistake though\, this is a service trip. DESCRIPTION:St. Dunstan’s is hosting another awesome community-wide event! The San Diego Concert Band is back for a joyous\, and FREE\, 21st Annual Independence Celebration Outdoor Concert at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church! This year’s grand event is scheduled for Sunday\, July 1st at 2 p.m.\, and is a perfect way to kick off your holiday celebration. Plus\, we’re also having a free Ice Cream Social immediately following the concert. Bring your children\, family\, friends\, and neighbors!! Bring your lawn chairs and blankets if you would like to relax on the grass. There will also be plenty of seating provided on the patio. The concert is free (but donations\, though not necessary\, are always accepted if you’d like to contribute). We look forward to sharing the afternoon with you! St. Dunstan’s is located in the San Diego community of San Carlos (across the street from Patrick Henry High and directly across the freeway from SDSU). DESCRIPTION:Join the street Eucharist and the contingent of Episcopalians who march in the Pride Parade. We usually have a trolley and hand out lots of crowd-pleasing give-aways. Last year\, we were in the front of the whole parade as the largest faith-based participant. It’s followed by a barbecue and dance party at the Cathedral. \nChurches that would like to participate should contact the Rev. Canon Jeff Martinhauk by May 25 to be a part of the planning.
