DESCRIPTION:The annual EDSD Lent youth retreat is going on a pilgrimage this year! Vans will load in various areas of San Diego on Saturday morning to begin the pilgrimage. The trip will include visits to St. Margaret’s\, and an overnight at St. John’s\, Indio. There will be a service project\, a hike\, deep spiritual reflection\, and so much more. Together we will explore the last piece of Micah 6:8\, considering how we are called to Walk Humbly with God. Attendees will better understand their blind spots and name identities that no longer serve them while reclaiming aspects that are most authentic and beloved. DESCRIPTION:LARK (Localized Anti-Racism Knowledge) began as a challenge from Bishop Susan Brown Snook. In February 2022 she asked the Racial Justice and Reconciliation Task Force (RJRTF) to develop a localized anti-racism workshop. Since anti-racism trainings are usually designed in other regions of the country\, they reflect their populations and histories. Our area has its own history\, issues\, and stories. LARK focuses on our local history and populations and deals with local issues and stories. The workshop includes practical tools and approaches for advancing racial reconciliation and justice within our diocese. \nLARK is one part of a lifelong journey for racial reconciliation and racial justice. There will be the opportunity to sail\, swim\, play games\, and relax with friends!\n \n\nDate & Time: June 2\, 2024 – 2-7pm\nLocation: Bahia Point – Grades 6-12\nArrival: 2pm Bahia Point. We will have two canopies and an Episcopal Shield flag\nWhat youth need to bring: Water bottle\, sunscreen\, swimwear that is appropriate for sports and games.\nOptional items for youth: chairs\, beach games\, playing cards\, etc.\nWhat chaperones need to bring: waivers for each person in your group\, sunscreen\, water bottle\, chair. Please plan on one chaperone for every 8 students you are bringing.\nFood: I will have large jugs of water for refilling water bottles and snacks for during the day. Our evening will include hotdogs\, fruit\, and s’mores.\nCost: FREE!\n\n\nWe will have hot dogs\, chips\, and water. DESCRIPTION:Viva Vida Joven! And Viva Christ Episcopal Church\, Coronado!  You are invited to join us for a festive dinner\, drinks\, and music on Saturday\, June 8\, 5 PM\, in the church courtyard. Bring a big appetite\, and bring your big hearts! Dinner tickets are $25 per person. Tickets are available for purchase in the button below. \nProceeds will benefit the orphaned and migrant children being served through the Vida Joven Foundation. This organization exists to love\, protect\, and educate orphaned and migrant children in Tijuana and Ensenada\, Mexico. Vida Joven is a ministry of our Episcopal Diocese and is a longtime friend and outreach partner of Christ Church. \nThere are currently 87 children in the orphanages. This could grow to 100 by the end of the year. The average total cost of meals to support 87 children is approximately $3\,000 per month. With the proceeds from the dinner and your donation\, we have set a goal to support two months’ worth of meals . . . $6\,000!
