DESCRIPTION:EDSD’s Mission Real Estate (MRE) task force is hosting a workshop for congregations ready to take the next steps in exploring missional use of their real estate on Saturday\, March 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Episcopal Church Center (2083 Sunset Cliffs Blvd.\, San Diego\, CA 92107). \nDuring this workshop we will: \n\nDescribe the relationship between the mission and finance in church real estate decisions\nExplain why your congregation is engaging in the mission real estate process\nDescribe who and how you will engage with your community to dream about this project’s possibilities\nDetermine what you need to know\, who you need on your team\, and the tools used to determine which ideas are possible and feasible\nFamiliarize your team with practical tips and resources you can use to understand the needs and priorities of the  congregation and community\n\nEach participating congregation will be expected to bring a team of three–these may be lay leaders\, vestry members\, and/or clergy. Registration is $25 per person–lunch will be provided. DESCRIPTION:The EDSD Gun Safety Working Group is recruiting Diocesan parishioners to participate in the San Diego 11th Annual Sandy Hook Vigil for Victims of Gun Violence. SUMMARY:CAMINAR EN LA LUZ - Walk in the Light - High School Youth Summer Trip
DESCRIPTION:August 2-8\, 2024 – entering grade 10 – exiting grade 12. There are 15 total spots available for this trip. The application is open through May 20\, 2024.\nCLICK TO APPLY\n\nThis Summer youth from the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego will travel to the Community of Light in Tijuana. They will meet youth from the Anglican Diocese of Western Mexico. The Community of Light is a partnership between the two dioceses and will be a shelter for women and children building a life in Tijuana after being unable to cross into the United States of America. Youth on this trip will build relationships with the youth from Western Mexico\, learn about the culture in Mexico\, work on service projects for the shelter\, and deepen their faith through learning\, serving\, and worship.\n \nApplications are open through May 20\, 2024. There are 15 spots for this year’s trip. The cost of the trip is $500. If a student is selected for the delegation\, they will secure their spot by making a $50 deposit. We will fundraise in community to make the trip possible for every student who wants to go. Students who participate in the fundraisers are eligible for a share of the funds raised.
