SUMMARY:Opening Reception to Meet the Artist! Lenore Tolegian Hughes; Wonders Never Cease
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for an Opening Reception to celebrate the exhibition of work by artist  \nLenore Tolegian Hughes   \n  \n                      \nIn her art exhibition\, Wonders Never Cease\, Lenore Tolegian Hughes takes viewers on a journey that equates wonder with life. “Imagine living without the beauty of saffron and yellow falling leaves in autumn\,” she says\, “without the bursting flesh of a ripe red pomegranate\, an abundant field of sunflowers\, or the saturated colors of a glorious sunset over the ocean.  The thought of living without wonder is unbearable.”  \nWonders Never Cease features Hughes’ paper weaving collages that combine secular and divine images into icons of a thought-provoking new reality. The exhibition opens at the beginning of Holy Week\, during which believers are called to be at one with the passion of Jesus culminating in his resurrection on Easter Sunday.  Her work engages the viewer in a visual pilgrimage to discover new and deeper revelations about life. \nFor more information about Hughes and her art\, visit her web site at lenorehughes.com  \nHughes’ paintings\, collages\, and installations are on exhibit from April 13-May 19\, 2019\, in St. James Gallery by-the- Sea.  \nGallery hours are 11 am -2 pm on Wednesdays\, Saturdays and Sundays\, before and after church services\, during Holy Week and by arrangement with the church office for individual and group visits.

DESCRIPTION:Wash the feet of people who are experiencing homelessness\, and share the joy of providing a loving presence to people in need. SUMMARY:Episcopal Communicators Conference
DESCRIPTION:Make your plans now to join us for the 2019 Episcopal Communicators conference April 30 to May 3 in downtown Denver\, Colorado. (April 29 and May 3 are travel dates.) \nThe conference will begin at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday\, April 30 and will conclude with the Polly Bond banquet the evening of Thursday\, May 2. Our optional pre-conference intensives will be a little different his year\, with each session running two-and-a-half hours\, so participants can pick two (April 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.). \nOur opening Eucharist on Tuesday will take place in the soaring nave of St. John’s Cathedral. \nA highlight will be two keynote addresses by the Rev. Nadia Bolz Weber\, author of two books with another due in January 2019. She is an ordained Lutheran pastor (ELCA) and the founder of House for All Sinners and Saints in Denver\, a quirky congregation she served for more than 10 years. \nLocation \nEvents will take place at the Curtis Hotel\, located in the heart of downtown Denver in an area filled with interesting restaurants and shops.
