SUMMARY:Pride Parade and Pride Eucharist – July 18
DESCRIPTION:Join St. Paul’s Cathedral as we celebrate Pride with a joyful public witness of God’s inclusive love. Whether you are a longtime participant or joining us for the first time\, we invite you to walk alongside fellow Episcopalians\, friends\, and neighbors in one of San Diego’s largest community celebrations. \nParticipants are encouraged to gather in the Cathedral’s 6th Avenue Courtyard at 8:00 a.m. Bring your Pride flags\, streamers\, signs\, and plenty of enthusiasm as we make our way together to the parade staging area. For those who may need transportation\, the beloved Pink Trolley will once again be available. Seating is limited\, so please reserve your spot in advance. \nFor information about reserving a seat on the Pink Trolley\, please contact Susan Jester at jesters@stpaulcathedral.org. \nBefore the parade begins\, we will gather for a special Pride Eucharist at our staging location at approximately 9:00 a.m. This outdoor service offers an opportunity to center ourselves in prayer and thanksgiving before stepping into the public celebration. All are welcome to participate. For information about the Pride Eucharist at the staging area\, please contact Brooks Mason at masonb@stpaulcathedral.org. \nThe San Diego Pride Parade begins at 10:00 a.m. Participants may either gather at the Cathedral and walk to the staging area together or meet us directly at the staging location. Final staging details and parade logistics will be shared in July as they become available. \nAfter the parade concludes\, all St. Paul’s Cathedral participants are invited back to the Cathedral for a festive BBQ lunch. This will be a chance to relax\, share stories from the day\, and continue celebrating the diverse and vibrant community that makes Pride such a meaningful event. \nCome celebrate\, pray\, march\, and share in the joy of being a community that proclaims God’s love for all people. We hope you’ll join us.

SUMMARY:Province VIII Youth Pilgrimage to Hawaii
DESCRIPTION:Province VIII Youth Pilgrimage to Hawaii\nJuly 28 – August 1\, 2026\nHigh School Youth\nAges 15 – 18\n*Passport or RealID required \nThis summer a delegation from The Episcopal Diocese of San Diego will head to Honolulu\, Hawaii for the Province VIII Youth Pilgrimage. Members of the delegation will represent our diocese as they gather with students from Hawaii\, Taiwan\,  Arizona\, Navajoland\, Utah\, Oregon\, Washington\, California\, Nevada\, and Idaho.  As part of a three-day pilgrimage\, We will be exploring stories of community through two different lenses\, the indigenous community of Hawaii\, and their history of immigration. Our delegation will also bring immigration stories from the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego. \nOur guiding scripture is 1 Corinthians 13:12. \nFor now we see only a reflection\, as in a mirror\, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully\, even as I have been fully known. \nIt will shape the way we prepare for the pilgrimage\, journey to Hawai’i\, partner with the other pilgrims we meet\, and return home. \nDue to the nature of this trip\, membership in the delegation will be by application. There are 15 total spots available. Provided they meet the requirements for the pilgrimage\, Juniors and Seniors will be given priority in selection as this will be their final opportunity to participate in an Episcopal Church Youth Leadership Program. \nRequirements to apply:\n1. Youth completed application no later than November 10\, 2025\n2. Youth leader/Rector completed nomination form no later than November 12\, 2025\n3. $50 application fee (application fee will be returned if not selected) \nCost of the trip:\nWe estimate the total cost of the trip to be $1500. That will be a shared cost between the youth participant\, their congregation\, and the diocese. \n\nYouth participant contribution: $500\nCongregation contribution: $500\nDiocese contribution: $500\n\nFundraising will be planned after the delegation is selected. If we are unable to raise the full amount of the cost\, each delegation member will be responsible for the remaining balance. If a participant withdraws after registration is completed\, they are responsible for all costs associated with their registration. Substitutions cannot be made. \nApplications for the EDSD delegation for the Province VIII Pilgrimage are now closed. Nominations can be completed through the button below through Wednesday\, November 12th. Email notifications will be sent to all applicants between November 17th and 19th. \nYouth Nomination Form\nQuestions about the Province VIII Youth Pilgrimage can be directed to Leighton Jones\, ljones@edsd.org\, and Charlette Preslar\, cpreslar@edsd.org. \n
