Community Foot Washing

Every Maundy Thursday (the Thursday before Easter) the Diocese of San Diego joins forces with other faith traditions to wash the feet of homeless people, and others needing a little support and love. Following Christ’s example of humility and service to others, we bend our knees, roll up our sleeves and care for those in need. We also pass out new shoes and socks to those who have pre-registered, and give away extra pairs to those who show up in need. We serve moms, dads, children, vets, people with mental illness, and anyone who happens to come to our door. We also have veterinary services, hair washes and haircuts, medical services, dental services, social services, a hot meal, and a sack lunch decorated with love by the children of Christ Church Day School. It is a life-giving event powered by scores of volunteers that reminds us what the Christian life is all about.
