Canon Nancy Holland has transitioned out of her work as the director of the Episcopal Church Center. She spent three years establishing the center as a hub of life-giving services to people in need, and preparing for the arrival of the diocesan staff, which took place in April of this year. Now she is focusing her energies on future church visioning, creative problem-solving, working with marginalized populations and new mission initiatives. Over the next six months, she will engage the congregations in two specific Mission Areas.
“God has a vision for our church,” said Canon Holland. “Our work is to listen, sense and follow that vision. My work with congregations will help them to find their particular vision, to hone in on it and to take action based on God’s call. It’s exciting work and I look forward to it.”
Canon Holland is a volunteer staff member for the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego. She began her work with the diocese by answering phones and providing hospitality to visitors. She, like other volunteers, has become a treasured asset to the organization. Reach her at nholland@edsd.org.
