New Beginnings
A Unique Program
New Beginnings is a unique weekend specifically designed to respond to the issues, concerns and needs of teenagers in grades 6 - 9. The weekend helps participants grow in their love for themselves, others and our Lord Jesus Christ.
For 6th - 9th Graders
Any student in grades 6 - 9 may attend a New Beginnings weekend twice as an applicant. After that, students in grades 8 - 11 may be selected to serve as staff. Participants do not have to be Episcopalian, but all must be recommended through an Episcopal or Lutheran church and have the backing of an adult sponsor.
Weekend Format
New Beginnings starts on Friday evening at 7:00pm and continues until Sunday at 3:00pm. There are a series of songs, skits, talks and small group discussions. These focus on the following subjects: self, friends, parents, siblings, peer pressure, God's love, prayer, Jesus and the church. There is time for praying, playing, laughing, creating, sharing and exploring.
